Dear No Boys Allowed cast and families:
We have had a slight change of plans and we will not be filming this week so you do not need to bring your NBA shirts. Instead we have decided to film during your performance next week at the Warner Grand theater. Also, since quite a few of you have indicated that you canít make the Sunday performance, we want to move your performance to Thursday, February 2. Call time for that performance will be 5:30 so we can work out details for the filming, then we will film the actual performance.
Schedule for the next 2 weeks:
Friday, 1/27 regular rehearsal from 5-7pm
Thursday, 2/2 performance, call time 5:30
Friday, 2/3-no rehearsal
Thatís it for this week. See you all at rehearsal on Friday.

Dear No Boys Allowed cast:
This is a reminder that we invited the girls to stay after rehearsal today for our first NO BOYS ALLOWED movie night! We will be watching the musical Newsies. Plan to pick them up at 9:30pm. We are going to be ordering pizza for them, but feel free to send your student with any other fun snacks, popcorn, etc. they might like to have.
Since we did not send out a reminder sooner, we are going to push back their video shoot one week. NO COSTUMES NEEDED THIS WEEK. But, next week we would like the girls to all come in their costumes because we will be filming them performing their numbers. We are creating this tape to send out to Disneyland, Knott's Berryfarm, etc. to get them booked to perform there.
See you all soon!

Dear No Boys Allowed Cast and families:
Happy New Year! We hope you had a fun, restful and safe holiday break and are ready to get back to work!
This week classes start back up at the Studios, so there will be dance class on both Tuesday and Friday and regular rehearsal on Friday from 5-7pm.
NEXT week, due to our Wizard of Oz Tech, we will NOT have Tuesday dance class but we WILL have Friday dance class and a short NBA rehearsal from 5-6pm on Friday, January 13.
Our next performance is on Saturday, January 14 and call time for that performance is 12:00 noon. We will have a full rehearsal at that time so PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE!
Remember to be practicing your numbers at home and/or with a friend so that we can spend all of our rehearsal time cleaning and making it look awesome instead of re-teaching!
That’s it for now and we’re looking forward to seeing you all this week!

Dear No Boys Allowed cast & families:
Thanks to those who came and performed at the Encore Christmas party! We are so proud of you. You did an awesome job and we heard nothing but compliments on your performance!
The Encore and Hollywood Jumpstart Studios will be closed from Thursday, December 22 through Sunday, January 1. There IS Tuesday dance class this week, but no rehearsal for the rest of December. Our next NO BOYS rehearsal will be on Friday, January 5, 2012.
We have announced our Spring Shows for all locations! For those who have not heard, we will be doing Guys and Dolls with both a 5-13 age cast and a 13-21 age cast. Details are at our website here. In San Pedro, we will be doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! Details will be available at our website soon. We are offering our No Boys Allowed students a great deal on both shows! If you refer a friend who has never done an Encore show and they sign up and pay full tuition for any one of our shows, you will receive a $75 discount off of tuition for any show. If you refer 2 friends, your discount will be $150 and if you refer 3 friends, your tuition is FREE!
We have a clarification about performance at Annie in San Pedro. The date that the girls will be performing is actually Thursday, February 2, 2012.
That’s it for this week! Have a safe and happy holiday season and we’ll see you all back in January!

Dear No Boys Allowed cast:
As you know, we are always looking for opportunities for you to perform so that you can continue to grow and polish your awesome performance skills! But, that means that sometimes these opportunities come up at the last minute. We don't want you to feel frustrated, especially at this busy time of year. If you are able to come join us, great! If you are already committed somewhere else, we understand! The point is to give as many opportunities as possible, and except for those occasions we know about far in advance we are very flexible with performances.
With that in mind, our annual Encore Holiday Potuck is going to be this Saturday at Coast Christian School (525 Earle Lane in Redondo Beach) from 6:00-8:30pm and we want you and your family to join us. Please bring a main dish, side dish or dessert to feed about 15 people and plan to have fun meeting new Encore friends. All of Encore is coming so you will meet new friends from San Pedro's Annie cast as well as from our Wizard of Oz cast and old friends we haven't seen in awhile! We would love for No Boys Allowed to perform at the party as well. The plan is to have NO BOYS ALLOWED perform at 7pm and VOCAL POINT perform at 7:30. Please let us know if you are able to attend and perform or not so we can make plans.
Also, the girls said that they really wanted to go caroling. we have scheduled that for this Friday night at 7:00pm right after rehearsal. (We are looking for some parents to help with driving the whole group down to the Christmas Tree Lights section of South Torrance, so please let us know if you can drive and how many you can take.) We will carol through the neighborhood and end up at Ms. Summer's mom's house at 4621 Reese Road in Torrance for hot chocolate. Parents are welcome to join us, or you can pick your student up there at about 9:00pm. If anyone found where we can buy pink Santa Hats, please let us know so we can get them for caroling! We would have liked the girls to go caroling in their NO BOYS pink shirts, but feel it would be WAY to cold for them. So just have them bundle up warm!
Finally, we would like to invite all of the No Boys Allowed girls and their families to a Christmas Party with Santa on Friday, December 23 at 6:30pm at the home of Ms. Summer's mom, Linda Wilson (4621 Reese Road in Torrance). You are especially welcome to bring younger siblings who will have the opportunity to visit with Santa in a much less hectic environment than the local mall, plus no long lines! Santa will pose for pictures with your whole family or selected members if you wish. This is just a simple invitation for a fun event that you and your family might enjoy. No performances, no obligations. Just come and have fun if you have time.
Mark your calendars now for our upcoming performances in January and February. NO BOYS will be performing Pre-Show for the Encore production of The Wizard of Oz on Saturday, January 14th at 2pm. They will need to arrive at 12:30pm. They will also be performing at Encore's production of Annie on Thursday, February 3rd at 7:30pm. They will need to arrive at 6pm.
See you all on Friday!

Dear No Boys Allowed cast:
Since it will be a challenge to try to costume everyone as we are lining up for the parade, we would like to get as many of you as possible your costumes today. We will have all of the costumes at Wizard of Oz rehearsal at Coast Christian School (525 Earle Lane, Redondo Beach) from 2pm-8pm and it would be very helpful if as many of you as possible could come try on and take costumes today.
Also, everyone needs to wear black tights and black or brown "orphan boots" or jazz shoes. (Remember that you will be walking a LONG way so jazz shoes might not be your best option.) Any black or brown boots with a low heel will be fine. Also, please wear a tank top and shorts under your costume so you can take it off and leave it with us after the parade.
There was some confusion over our meeting place in the last newsletter. We will be meeting at noon on 16th between Pacific & Mesa. Look for #62 and the big Stake bed truck that has Annie written all over it.
If you have not already done so, please reply to this email let us know either way whether you are going to attend.
Hope to see you all later today to pick up your costume!

Dear No Boys Allowed Cast:
Here are the details for the San Pedro Parade this Sunday, December 4. Parents, it might be a good idea to carpool so that there is one driver and one walking escort for your child(ren) because it will be very crowded and parking may be difficult. You can either find parking as close as possible and walk your child in, then go pick your place to watch the parade, or you can drop your child (with an escort) and go park at the end of the parade route in the Port parking lot at 5th Street and Palos Verdes Street (Not Blvd). We have attached the Parade Route to this email.
We will meet at noon on 16th between Pacific & Mesa. The parade will last between 2-2.5 hours long and starts at 1:00. We are #62. After the parade, we will escort everyone to the parking lot at 5th and Palos Verdes Street where we will release them to you. If you want to be assured of hearing them perform, be sure to station yourself near one of the announcer's booths that are marked on the attached parade route map.
This is a new venture for us. Encore has not been featured in a parade before. We hope you are as excited as we are! We have decided that since the girls will be marching in the parade, we are going to have them wear Orphan costumes from Annie, instead of their NO BOYS T-shirts. (Of course, we will supply all of them with costumes.) We think this will be TONS of fun for them. They will be singing songs from the show and perform "Hard Knock Life." They will get to carry mops and buckets and act like orphans the whole time! We are going to try and get the costumes to the girls on Fri. so that they can take them home with them and wear them on Sun. If we are not able to do this or they are not able to be there on Fri then we will bring them there. Be sure to wear KNEE PADS!!! Please also have them wear black tights and black jazz shoes or if they have boots they wore in Annie they can wear those.
We are looking for a Dad that may be interested in driving the flatbed truck that we will be using in the parade. We are also looking for a couple of parents that might want to walk along side the girls and just keep an eye on them as they walk the route. We could even put you in an Annie costume if you want. (Jen Viggiano - you should totally do this and dress as a maid!!!) If you are interested, please reply to this email and let us know.
Call Beth Aranda-Hodzic (Alexa's mom) at 323-816-8776 if you have questions.
See you all at rehearsal and on Sunday!
