The Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser is on Sunday!! Are you able to attend?! PLEASE REPLY and let us know!!

DETAILS ABOUT THE SPAGHETTI DINNER:
Our upcoming Spaghetti Dinner Theatre Fundraiser is on Sunday, April 29th at 6:00pm. The fundraiser is being held at the Rolling Hills Covenant Church Community Center located on 735 Silver Spur Road in Rancho Palos Verdes. At the fundraiser, we will be featuring songs and dance numbers from all the productions Encore presented this past year. We are inviting back all of our students to come and perform them one last time!

We are planning on showcasing a few VOCAL POINT numbers as well as the following numbers:
1- Go, Go, Joe- Joseph
2- Close Every Door- Joseph
3- Sit Down You're Rockin the Boat- Guys and Dolls
4- Luck Be A Lady- Guys and Dolls
5- Bushel and a Peck- Guys and Dolls
6- Hard Knock Life- Annie
7- Hooverville- Annie
8- Jitterbug- Wizard of Oz
9- Ding Dong the Witch is Dead- Wizard of Oz

Those students participating will need to arrive on Sunday, April 29th at the times below to review what they may have forgotten. Once a student has finished with their rehearsal time slot, they are free to leave but will need to be back again no later than 5pm. (DO NOT BE LATE TO YOUR REHEARSAL TIME OR WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLACE YOU IN THE NUMBER AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PERFORM!!)
1:00pm-2:00pm Soloists (We will be contacting those students who auditioned for solos shortly & letting them know if we have selected them for a solo.)
2:00pm-2:30pm - NO BOYS ALLOWED
2:30pm-3:00pm - Go, Go Joe, Close Every Door to Me
3:00pm-3:30pm - Hard Knock Life, Hooverville
3:30pm-4:00pm - Jitterbug, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead

(If you are not able to come early on Sunday, but you still desperately want to be a part of the show, talk to Summer and she will see if she can work something out!)

Costumes for the Spaghetti Dinner: All performers need to wear black pants and either tennis shoes or their black jazz shoes. For their shirt, VOCAL POINT should wear their black VOCAL POINT T-Shirts.

Anyone who would like to volunteer to help set-up tables, wrap baskets, etc., we will be doing so on Sunday, April 29th starting at 1pm. If you can help, please reply to this email to let us know and we will see you there! We will have fun putting the baskets together and making everything look beautiful for our fundraiser!

We would love to have several more items for our fundraiser. If anyone can donate any dessert items, cans of soda, or bottles of water that would be wonderful! Please reply to this email and let us know what you can donate and then bring your items on Sunday, April 29.

We still need Silent Auction items! If anyone has anything that they can bring in, such as gift cards, movies, video games, toys, etc. that would be great! (Just remember that items need to be new and in their original packaging.) If you only have one thing, bring it on Sunday and we can add it to one of the gift baskets that will be auctioned off. Attached to this email is a letter you can give to businesses. We also need baskets to put Silent Auction items in, so if you have any baskets please bring them on Sunday as well.

Dear Vocal Point Members:

Hello Awesome People!!

First off - Yes, you do have rehearsal tomorrow, April 11.

Charlie Brown is this weekend! Don't forget that you need to purchase a ticket in order to stay and watch the show after you perform. And trust us, you do NOT want to miss your fearless leader Mike Walker write a "Book Report" on Peter Rabbit and rock out to "Beethoven Day"! Plus some of your very own Vocal Point members are helping us out by performing in the show, so come support them!

PLEASE REPLY and let us know whether or not you will be there to perform before our Saturday evening 7:00pm performance.

Dear Vocal Point Members:

First off - Have you heard about our upcoming ALL ENCORE STAFF fundraiser production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown?! You will NOT want to miss this!! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Encore staff members will take to the stage as the beloved Peanuts Gang! Don't miss - Patrick as the adorable Linus with a lisp, Jen as the Red-Baron fighting Snoopy, Mike Walker as the piano-playing Schroeder, Summer as the forceful and overbearing Lucy, and Marcelo (that's right - Marcelo!) as the round-headed Charlie Brown! All proceeds will go straight to the Encore Scholarship Fund. Join us Thursday, April 12 at 7pm or Saturday, April 14 at 2pm & 7pm. Head to our website to purchase your tickets! We have also attached a flyer we would love for you to send out to all of friends and family who are theatre lovers!

We know it is far off in the distance, and we don't have any details for you yet, but we just wanted to let you know that we have a potential performance opportunity in the early afternoon on the 4th of July at Wilson Park.

Dear Vocal Point Members:

We hope you're having an awesome week!!

Announcement: From this point on, all Vocal Point rehearsal absences must be cleared with Mike Walker, rather than Encore Office Staff. He prefers to be contacted via text message at (310) 386-8566 or email at pianomike@aol.com.

We will soon be installing a drop box at Hollywood Jumpstart to make paying for classes easier. Those of you who have not yet switched over to automatic credit card payments can just drop your checks in the box!

Dear Vocal Point Members:

We apologize for the late notice, but we are going to have to cancel Vocal Point rehearsal for tonight. You all know that Mike is out of town. Summer was going to run and clean some stuff with you, but she is really not feeling well today. We tried to get another staff member to cover tonight, but we were unsuccessful! PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL AND LET US KNOW THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT. We will be calling those who do not reply.

Most of you probably already know this, but Summer is pregnant. But, we wanted to make you aware that she has been extremely fatigued and nauseous the last week and has spent very little time in the office. We really do apologize for giving such late notice she was really hoping she would be feeling better today.

We are also in the process of starting to switch all of the classes at our studio to automatic monthly credit card payments. It has been challenging to keep up with everyone's payments and we think this will assist in running things smother. We would appreciate if you could all switch over in March to this new system and keep a credit card on file to pay for your monthly tuition. (This should make things much easier on all of you too!) We will send all students home with a form next week that you can fill out or you can call our office to get your information on file.

Dear Vocal Point cast: Sorry for the late notice this week but we have had a slight change of plans. You will not need to bring your VP shirts to rehearsal tonight after all. We will have regular rehearsal as usual but we have decided to hold off on filming until you are performing in the Warner Grand Theater next Friday night. Call time for that performance on Friday, February 3 will be 5:30 so we can work out details for the filming, then we will film the actual performance.

Dear Vocal Point Cast and Families:

Thanks to those who came and performed at the Encore Christmas party! You did an awesome job and we heard nothing but compliments on your performance!

Encore Entertainers and Hollywood studios will be closed from Thursday, December 22 through Sunday, January 1. There are classes on Monday and Tuesday of this week and the last rehearsal for Vocal Point for the year is this Wednesday and we are going caroling afterward. We need an RSVP for how many will be caroling. Please reply to this email right away and let us know either way whether you are able to join us. After this Wednesday, our next rehearsal will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

We have announced our Spring Shows for all locations! For those who have not heard, we will be doing Guys and Dolls with both a 5-13 age cast and a 13-21 age cast. Details are at our website here. In San Pedro we will be doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! Details will be available at our website soon. We are offering our Vocal Point students a great deal on both shows! If you refer a friend who has never done an Encore show and they sign up and pay full tuition for any one of our shows, you will receive a $75 discount off of tuition for any show. If you refer 2 friends, your discount will be $150 and if you refer 3 friends, your tuition is FREE!

Dear Vocal Point cast and families:

As you know, we are always looking for opportunities for you to perform so that you can continue to grow and polish your awesome performance skills! But, that means that sometimes these opportunities come up at the last minute. We don't want you to feel frustrated, especially at this busy time of year. If you are able to come join us, great! If you are already committed somewhere else, we understand! The point is to give as many opportunities as possible, and except for those occasions we know about far in advance we are very flexible with performances.

With that in mind, our annual Encore Holiday Potuck will be this Saturday at Coast Christian School (525 Earle Lane in Redondo Beach) from 6:00-8:30pm and we want you and your family to join us. Please bring a main dish, side dish or dessert to feed about 15 people and plan to have fun meeting new Encore friends. All of Encore is coming so you will meet new friends from San Pedro's Annie cast as well as from our Wizard of Oz cast and old friends we haven't seen in awhile! We would love for Vocal Point to perform at the party as well. The plan is to have NO BOYS ALLOWED perform at 7pm and VOCAL POINT perform at 7:30. Please let us know if you are able to attend and perform or not so we can make plans.

Vocal Point members have expressed that they would like to go caroling as a group. We have scheduled that on Wednesday, December 21 at 7:00pm right after rehearsal. (We will be carpooling down to the Christmas Tree Lights section of South Torrance, so please let us know if you can drive and how many you can take.) We will carol through the neighborhood and end up at Ms. Summer's mom's house at 4621 Reese Road in Torrance for hot chocolate. Parents are welcome to join us, or you can pick your student up there at about 9:00pm.

Mark your calendars now for our upcoming performances in January and February. Vocal Point will be performing Pre-Show for the Encore production of The Wizard of Oz on Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th at 7:30pm. They will need to arrive at 6pm. They will also be performing at Encore's production of Annie on Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm and Sunday, February 5th at 6:30pm.

Dear Vocal Point Members,

Vocal Point's participation in the San Pedro parade is cancelled as several members are unable to attend. We appreciate that some of you had long standing conflicts which were previously noted. We are working hard to open up many opportunities for Vocal Point and there will be times that unscheduled events turn up. In the future, please let us know as soon as possible if there is a conflict so that we can set expectations and be upfront to those who have invited us to perform.

Dear VOCAL POINT Members:

Last week we told you guys that you would have the opportunity to perform in the San Pedro Parade this Sunday, December 4. Here are the details. We will be meeting at 12pm on 16th between Pacific & Mesa. It might be a good idea to carpool because it will be very crowded and parking may be difficult. We have attached the Parade Route to this email. The parade will last between 2-2.5 hours long and starts at 1:00. We are #62. Be sure to invite all your family and friends to come and watch you in the parade!

This is a new venture for us. Encore has not been featured in a parade before. We hope you are as excited as we are! You will need to wear black pants, socks, and shoes, and your Vocal Point T-Shirt. You guys will be riding in a flatbed truck during the parade. The plan is to have you sing "Kiss Her Goodbye" and "Don't Wait for Heroes" along the route.

We think it would be awesome to create a banner to go on the sides of your flatbed truck! We can supply you with paper and paint, but we will need a couple of you to paint it. This can be done at the Encore shop on Saturday during the day. Please reply to this email ASAP and let us know if you can create a sign for Vocal Point.

We are also looking for a Dad that may be interested in driving the flatbed truck that we will be using in the parade. Please reply to this email if you are interested.
