Encore's Class Schedule - Spring 2012

Encore Entertainers offers singing and dancing classes geared towards musical theatre in 12 week sessions. Tuition fee listed is per month. Discounts are offered for students who take multiple classes. Encore Entertainers is an approved vendor with Sky Mountain Charter. Spring Sessions offered - Session 1: February 13 - April 8, Session 2: April 9-July 2nd.

Voice Study I (ages 8-12) This group vocal class will be taught by Tamra Glaser. Tamra has her degree in voice from University of Michigan. She has performed in Broadway shows and world-class Operas, as well as with countless orchestras internationally. Tamra is most well-known for her performance of the role of Christine Daae, appearing opposite the legendary Sir Michael Crawford. Miss Glaser’s innovative vocal techniques are based upon science fused with strong traditions of Old World Training. This class is designed to help students learn proper vocal technique. They will study the anatomy of the voice, proper breathing, posture, ear training, and developing a repertoire.	Sat	10:00-11:00	Glaser, T.	$125
Voice Study II (ages 13-19) This advanced group vocal class will also be taught by Tamra Glaser. (See above.) In this more advanced class, students will deepen their skills and begin to work on breath control, expanding their range, and singing with power and control.	Sat	11:00-12:00	Glaser, T.	$125

Jazz/Tap Combo (ages 3-5) This beginning class is perfect for those who want to learn two styles of dance! Classes introduce basic jazz vocabulary and skill while building a foundation for future progression in the study of jazz. In addition we will introduce tap fundamentals and learn basic rhythmic skills such as shuffle variations and beginning combinations. Jazz shoes and snug fitting tap shoes required. Jazz/Tap Combo (ages 8-13) This beginning class is perfect for those who want to learn two styles of dance! Classes introduce basic jazz vocabulary and skill while building a foundation for future progression in the study of jazz. In addition we will introduce tap fundamentals and learn basic rhythmic skills such as shuffle variations and beginning combinations. Jazz shoes and snug fitting tap shoes required. Jazz/Tap Combo I for Boys (ages 10-18) Studies show that young men who have movement or dance training do better at sports, are more comfortable socially and work better with others. This unique class helps young men develop spatial awareness, promotes problem-solving, working with others and builds self-esteem. Jazz/Tap Combo I (ages 6-12) This beginning class is perfect for those who want to learn two styles of dance! Classes introduce basic jazz vocabulary and skill while building a foundation for future progression in the study of jazz. In addition we will introduce tap fundamentals and learn basic rhythmic skills such as shuffle variations and beginning combinations. Jazz shoes and snug fitting tap shoes required. Jazz/Tap Combo I/II (ages 8-13) Now that you have learned the basics, it’s time to start putting together some fun choreography. At this level we will begin an introduction to intermediate jazz steps, such as double pirouettes, as well as turn-leap combinations and turn variations. In tap, we will move on to more challenging combinations. Students will also work on conditioning skills needed to develop into strong dancers. Jazz shoes and snug fitting tap shoes required. Jazz/Tap Combo II (ages 9-18) Now that you have learned the basics, it’s time to start putting together some fun choreography. Theater Tech I (ages 10-18) Learn the ins and out of Technical Theatre. This class is taught by Encore's Technical Director, Marcelo Cacciagioni, who has over 15 years of Professional Tech Experience. This course builds off of what students learn in Theatre Tech I, offering them the opportunity to take their training to the next level. Students will learn hands on as they design and build side by side with Marcelo at Encore's Scene Shop. Theatre Tech II students have the opportunity to become Encore Student Tech Staff, as well as the opportunity to be hired by Marcelo as scene shop employees!
